What has happened to our humanity!!!

THIS STORY WAS SENT TO A FRIEND THROUGH WHATSAPP:

"I was driving home from Putrajaya to Melaka. On my way home, I saw a man riding a motorcycle with his son and his young daughter about2-3 years old, sandwiched in between them. The daughter was in a hugging position, wearing a jacket and wears no helmet. I started following them somewhere after Nilai's exit and kept on following because I was assuming that they were going at least to Seremban.

After passing the Senawang's exit, my heart felt that something was not right. Slowly I approached them and offered them a hitch hike, well at least for the children. He declined the first offer. Suddenly, he stopped. I assume he was adjusting something with his bag. I took the opportunity to stop on his tail and offered my help. He declined my offer. I myself , was not in the state of letting this guy continue risking his kids.Out of hesitation, he accepted my help. Both his older son and his young daughter stepped into my car. As I was driving, the man rides on my tail.

I took the opportunity to ask the young teenager where they were from and where they were going to. I had a shock when he answered, "We are from Pasir Gudang going to Sungai Buloh and now heading back to Pasir Gudang!"

What the hell! For God's sake it is a 400-500 km rides home! I asked for the reason they risked riding a bike with his young sibling. He said, his young sister was in a state of near blindness. They needed to get some treatment from Hospital Sungai Buloh to save her eyes.

I stopped at RNR Ayer Keroh, and decided to treat them with lunch. The father were drilled a ton of questions from me. He admitted that he was penniless, his car broke down, and he cannot afford to travel even by bus. He took the risk riding with his kids to get the girl to an eye specialist in Sungai Buloh Hospital. He declined my offer to buy his two kids a bus ticket and insisted on riding home another 300km away.

I concurred but I'd asked him to follow me to the nearest ATM. I contributed a small amount of cash and he in all hesitation accepted it. And I was left to wonder, how would he continue the 300 km rides with heavy rain pouring down and passing trucks and lorries. I was also left to wonder, what has happened to our richness that a man was left to risk death to get medical help for his daughter.

What has happened to our humanity that nobody was even bother with the man's troubling rides with his daughter. We as human being, we as a nation failed!"
