Glowing Waterfall

serenemaklong.blogspot.com
Natural wonder: the waterfall that glows like volcanic lava. Like many wonders of the natural world, it appears seldom and when it does, not for long. For just two weeks in February, the water cascade at Horsetail Falls in Yosemite National Park glows like volcanic lava. The breathtaking light show lasts for just minutes but stays long in the memory for those lucky enough to witness it. The rare phenomenon occurs at sunset when the shadows run across the face of the El Capitan mountain.
The dimming light hits the waterfall and turns it from yellow to orange to red, giving it its lava look. The rare phenomenon occurs at sunset when the shadows run across the face of the El Capitan mountain. The dimming light hits the waterfall and turns it from yellow to orange to red, giving it its lava look. There are no guarantees, though. Only the right combination of flowing water and clear skies make it possible. And it might not be seen for years if there's fog or too much cloud. That doesn't stop scores of photographers making an annual pilgrimage - and this year they got lucky. DailyMirror@uk/news/world-news
