The Swarovski Giant
Wattens is a market town of 7,689 people, located in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is best known as the home of the Swarovski crystal glass company, the town’s main employer. In 1995, Swarovski celebrated its one-hundred-years jubilee by the establishment of the Swarovski Kristallwelten Museum (Crystal Worlds). Today it is one of the major tourist destinations in Austria, attracting visitors from all over the world.
Located at the museum’s entrance is this fascinating waterspout and fountain known as ‘The Giant‘. Inside, multimedia artist André Heller designed 14 underground ‘Chambers of Wonder’, dedicated to the versatile artistic interpretation of crystal. [Photograph by Gegengoliath]
