Lake Superior - Fortress of Solitude
In this amazing capture we see the frozen shores of Lake Superior awash with giant chunks of ice that look eerily similar to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude.
Unfortunately there is not much information available about the exact location this picture was taken and Lake Superior is pretty large, so there’s plenty of shore, 2,726 mi/4,387 km to be exact. Lake Superior is generally considered the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area (82,100 sq. km/31,700 sq. mi) and third-largest freshwater lake by volume (after Caspian Sea and Lake Baikal).
